Density and bulk density

Back

Density is a physical property that is used to identify plastics.

It depends on the polymer, the additives it contains and, in some cases, on the processing (Mucell method).

OMPG has equipment to determine the density using the buoyancy method (DIN EN ISO 1183-1) for test specimens or components or as a gas pycnometer method (also applicable for fibers and regrind).

Foams

In the field of foams, the bulk density (also known as density) is an important parameter for checking the quality of the foaming process. Mechanical parameters can only be classified if the bulk density of the samples is known.
